Duval entered his first elk bugling contest this past Saturday with some encouragement from his dad. A few days of practicing and he pulled of a series of calls good enough for 2nd place in the 8-14 yr old bracket! His cow elk calls were particularly good (I'm told) and apparently those are the important ones for hunting anyway. Jason also won second place in the men's bracket so it was all around a good day for the Beck boys.The contest was at an outdoor event that had fishing, archery, hatchet throwing, and the fun times of camping with friends. Cousins Kalli and Tarek came to hang out for the evening as well making the day just about perfect. It was a great weekend for all of us!

Cute pictures! My kids said they had a lot of fun! Tarek was super proud of his cooler bag and mug that Duval gave him. Thanks for inviting them to tag along!
